Emergency lockdown boiler change for a new customer. All recommended precautions took place. The customer found us by recommendation on a neighbourhood social media page. At this difficult time their existing Baxi boiler had leaked and caused extensive damage meaning a repair would have been very expensive with the parts required. They decided to have a new boiler. The old one was 20 years old and the customer also wanted to update the old conventional system for a combination boiler. This would free up valuable storage space in the airing cupboard due to the removal of the old cylinder and tanks. Also the conversion to a sealed heating system will considerably improve the performance of the heating system. There was exceptional water pressure available. This enabled us to fit a large boiler, able to cope with 2 bathrooms simultaneously. We fitted a BAXI 836 combination boiler, able to provide up to 16.5 litres/min of hot water. The new boiler is a high efficiency model which will make a significant reduction in gas bills. We have recently added BAXI to our range of boilers due to their excellent value for money. We also carried out a full power flush of the heating system. A large amount of sludge and debris was removed, further increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of the existing radiators. Some of this ‘sludge’ is shown in the 2nd picture’. A ‘Hive’ smart control was added to the boiler, again increasing efficiency. As standard, a magnetic filter was fitted to help protect the boiler from future build up of system debris. For more information on Baxi boilers, click here.
